Job Summary
The Bar Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bar, ensuring high standards of service, product quality, hygiene, and guest satisfaction.
The role includes supervising bartenders, managing stock, controlling costs, and ensuring smooth bar operations in line with hotel standards.
Key Responsibilitiesbar Operations
- Supervise daily bar operations and ensure smooth service flow.
- Ensure all beverages are prepared and served according to standard recipes.
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation at all times.
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and special requirements professionally
Team Supervision
- Lead, train, and motivate bartenders and bar attendants.
- Prepare duty rosters and manage shift assignments.
- Monitor staff performance and provide on-the-job training.
- Ensure grooming and service standards are followed.
Inventory & Stock Control
- Monitor stock levels of beverages, glassware, and bar supplies.
- Assist in ordering, receiving, and storing bar inventory.
- Conduct stock checks and report variances.
- Minimize wastage and control pilferage.
Quality & Service Standards
- Ensure consistent beverage quality and presentation.
- Maintain standard recipes and portion control.
- Ensure compliance with hotel brand standards and SOPs.
- Promote upselling and suggestive selling techniques.
Cashiering & Reporting
- Oversee cash handling and billing procedures at the bar.
- Ensure accurate billing and POS usage.
- Prepare daily sales and operational reports.
- Report sales, stock usage, and any discrepancies to management.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Follow alcohol service laws and responsible service practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the bar area.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality / Hotel Management (preferred).
- 2–4 years of experience in bar operations, with supervisory exposure preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and beverages.
- Experience in hotel or high-volume bar operations is an advantage.
