Backend (Full-Stack) - Technical Lead

The Role

What You'll Own

• Own backend architecture, API design, and integrations across live systems.
• Manage server infrastructure, including configuration, environments, deployments, and database administration.
• Lead the delivery squad through code review, engineering standards, mentoring, and estimates.
• Plan sprints with the project manager by scoping requirements, assigning work, and tracking delivery.
• Deliver hands-on work across the stack, prioritizing backend services and completing frontend features as needed.
• Coordinate with designers and QA from specification through tested release.
• Maintain enterprise security, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate directly with client stakeholders alongside project managers.

What We're Looking For

• 9+ years building production software, including 5+ years leading engineers.
• Deep backend expertise in Node.js/TypeScript, PHP/Laravel, and .NET.
• Strong Linux server configuration, deployment, CI/CD, database design, and administration capability across PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server.
• Full-stack capability, including modern frontend development with React or Next.js.
• Clear communication, project-manager collaboration, and developer mentorship.
• Professional Arabic and English proficiency is required for a bilingual work environment.
• UAE-based or willing to relocate to Abu Dhabi, with a long-term commitment.
• Government or enterprise delivery experience is a strong plus.

Pay

• AED 10,000 to AED 13,000 per month.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• At least 6 years of back-end development experience is required.
• At least 5 years of Node.js/TypeScript, PHP/Laravel, and .NET experience is required.

Work Location

• Work location is in person in Abu Dhabi.
• Reliable commuting to Abu Dhabi or relocation before starting is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% is preferred.
