Backend Engineer - Wallets

Overview

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services that support secure and scalable wallet infrastructure and digital asset operations.
• Build and optimize high-performance microservices capable of handling large-scale real-time transactions and platform growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver innovative backend solutions aligned with evolving product and business requirements.
• Ensure the highest standards of platform security, implementing best practices to protect user assets, sensitive data, and system integrity.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously improve system reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Work with databases and distributed systems to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and synchronization.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve backend performance issues while proactively identifying opportunities for optimization.
• Stay current with emerging blockchain, peer-to-peer, and backend development technologies to drive innovation across the platform.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience with Node.js and JavaScript backend development.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and scalable distributed systems.
• Experience building and maintaining complex, high-availability backend platforms.
• Familiarity with peer-to-peer technologies and decentralized systems.
• Proficiency working with databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of backend security principles and experience implementing secure coding practices.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, frameworks, and technical environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills within remote and international teams.
• Experience working in Agile development environments is considered an asset.
• Interest or experience in blockchain, fintech, or digital asset ecosystems is highly valued.
