Backend Engineering

• 5+ years building production backend systems in Python (FastAP /Django)
• Strong REST API design — versioning, authentication, rate limiting, structured error responses.
• PostgreSQL — schema design, query optimisation, indexing, transaction management
• Redis — caching, session storage, rate limiting
• Background task processing — Celery, RabbitMQ,

IoT & Real-Time Systems

• MQTT protocol — broker configuration, topic design, QoS levels, LWT, persistent sessions, ACL management
• IoT device provisioning — credential lifecycle, secure provisioning sequences, OTA update pipelines
• Real-time telemetry pipeline design — high-throughput ingestion, time-series data handling
• WebSocket or server-sent events for real-time browser updates

Infrastructure & DevOps

• Docker and container orchestration — Docker Compose for development, Kubernetes or ECS for production
• CI/CD — GitHub Actions or equivalent
• Observability — structured logging, Prometheus / Grafana distributed tracing

Security

• JWT authentication — token issuance, refresh rotation, revocation, scope management
• API security — input validation, SQL injection prevention, CORS, secrets management
• IoT security — device identity, credential rotation, understanding of physical attack surface

Payments

• Stripe integration — Checkout, webhooks, idempotent event handling, subscription lifecycle
• Subscription billing models — proration, plan changes, grace periods

Nice To Have

• eSIM platform API experience
• Time-series database experience — TimescaleDB, InfluxDB,
• Multi-tenant SaaS platform experience
• Factory provisioning systems and manufacturing data pipelines
• Machine learning pipeline experience with sensor time-series data

Language

• Excellent professional communication skills in **English** (both technical and non-technical).
