Role Overview
We are seeking a Backend Developer to build and maintain the core infrastructure behind our e‑commerce website, mobile apps, and PWA.
You will ensure high performance, data security, and smooth integration with payment gateways, inventory systems, and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful/GraphQL APIs for web and mobile clients.
- Implement secure user authentication, session management, and role‑based access.
- Optimise database queries and caching (Redis, Memcached) for low‑latency responses.
- Integrate third‑party services: payment providers (Stripe, Adyen), shipping, tax, and fraud detection.
- Write unit/integration tests and participate in code reviews.
- Monitor server health, error tracking, and performance metrics.
(Must Have)
- 4+ years of backend experience with Node.js (NestJS/Express) or Python (Django/FastAPI).
- Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and experience with ORMs (TypeORM, SQLAlchemy).
- Hands‑on with Redis, message queues (RabbitMQ/Kafka), and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
- Experience building e‑commerce features: cart, order management, inventory, discounts.
- Knowledge of security best practices (OWASP, JWT, encryption).
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).

- Experience with headless commerce (e.g., Medusa, Saleor, or custom solutions).
- Knowledge of search engines (Elasticsearch, Algolia) for product search.
- Exposure to microservices and Docker/Kubernetes.
- Previous work on cross‑border e‑commerce (multi‑currency, tax, localisation).
(First 90 Days)
- Successfully launch API v1 with all core endpoints documented and tested.
- Achieve \<200ms average API response time under load (simulated 10k concurrent users).
- Integrate two payment gateways and complete PCI DSS compliant flow.
- Implement automated monitoring and alerting for critical services.

Salary range
4,000 – 5,000 AED per month
