Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer with strong experience in Node.js to join our growing technology team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing scalable backend services, APIs, and server-side applications while ensuring high performance, security, and reliability of systems.
The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, hands-on coding expertise, and experience working in fast-paced development environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Node.js
- Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices
- Integrate third-party APIs, databases, and external systems
- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability
- Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps teams, and product stakeholders
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices
- Troubleshoot and debug backend issues in development and production environments
- Implement security and data protection standards
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- Maintain technical documentation for backend systems and integrations
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience with Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience building REST APIs and backend services
- Good understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture
- Experience with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Redis
- Familiarity with Express.js or similar Node.js frameworks
- Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms (JWT, OAuth, etc.)
- Knowledge of Git version control and CI/CD workflows
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is an advantage
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized environments is a plus
- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Familiarity with messaging queues such as RabbitMQ or Kafka is an added advantage
