Role Overview

Support the Credit Secondaries investment team across underwriting, portfolio management, market monitoring, and internal database initiatives.

The role provides exposure to private credit, secondary transactions, portfolio analytics, and investment decision-making.

Report to the VP, Shared Business Services and do not supervise staff.

Primary Functions

  • Evaluate prospective Credit Secondaries investments, including LP-led and GP-led transactions.
  • Review diligence materials such as loan tapes, financial statements, portfolio reports, capital account statements, and broker materials.
  • Validate loan-level and portfolio-level data in internal underwriting models and reporting outputs.
  • Build and maintain underwriting and portfolio monitoring models with return analyses, sensitivity scenarios, and valuation outputs.
  • Analyze borrower performance, industry exposure, concentration risks, and portfolio trends.
  • Roll forward underwriting models using updated financial information and assumptions.
  • Monitor quarterly performance of publicly traded BDCs, including earnings, valuation marks, portfolio activity, and market developments.
  • Maintain deal, comparable, underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and market intelligence databases and trackers.
  • Prepare investment committee materials, diligence summaries, pricing analyses, and portfolio reviews.

Supplementary Tasks

  • Conduct company, industry, and market research supporting underwriting, valuation, and portfolio monitoring.
  • Enhance internal analytical tools, databases, templates, and reporting frameworks.
  • Identify process improvements, automate recurring tasks, and improve data quality and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with investment professionals across geographies on strategic and ad hoc analytical projects.

Education and Experience

  • Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in business, finance, another pre-professional field, or a discipline with exposure to private credit and secondaries.
  • Demonstrate a strong academic background and interest in private credit, alternative investments, secondaries, or financial markets.
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience is preferred, including private credit, lending, leveraged finance, credit research, investment banking, valuation, or portfolio management.
  • Prior exposure to fund modeling, credit analysis, cash flow modeling, portfolio monitoring, or investment committee materials is preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI, VBA, Python, SQL, or other automation tools is a plus.

General Requirements

  • Demonstrate advanced financial analysis, valuation, and modeling capabilities, including credit analysis, portfolio monitoring, NAV analysis, portfolio valuations, and fund waterfall structures.
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to reduce complex models into key drivers and combine disparate datasets and assumptions.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with a professional demeanor.
  • Work independently and effectively in collaborative, fast-paced deal teams.
  • Be willing to undergo extensive training to understand fund model nuances.

Application Timing

  • Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until the search is no longer active.
