We are seeking a highly skilled
Associate Director/Technical Director- Fire Engineering
to join our team in Dubai, UAE/ KSA and lead the Fire Engineering function across key projects in the region.
The Role
This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving fire engineering strategy, technical delivery, and compliance across a portfolio of major developments.
The role provides full lifecycle oversight from concept design through to construction and authority approvals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead fire engineering delivery across multiple complex projects, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance
- Develop and review fire strategies, performance-based design solutions, and technical reports aligned with international standards
- Drive code-compliant design and ensure adherence to local and international regulations (IBC, IFC, NFPA, regional codes)
- Coordinate with architects, MEP, structural, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire engineering requirements
- Review and approve design documentation, shop drawings, and material submittals
- Interface with authorities and stakeholders to secure approvals and ensure regulatory compliance
- Oversee modelling and analysis outputs (CFD, evacuation modelling) to support design decisions
- Provide technical leadership and governance across projects, ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, building team capability and technical standards
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring delivery aligns with commercial, programme, and quality objectives
Candidate Profile
- Degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Significant experience in fire engineering with proven leadership on large-scale developments
- Strong knowledge of international fire codes and standards (NFPA, IBC, IFC) and regional frameworks
- Experience across complex building typologies (mixed-use, high-rise, infrastructure, etc.)
- Strong stakeholder management and authority liaison experience
- Ability to lead both technical delivery and strategic project discussions
