Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Define group IT cloud, infrastructure, and modern workplace roadmaps, architectures, engineering practices, standards, and governance.
• Set GPU and accelerated-computing strategy and lead AI infrastructure implementation across operating companies.
• Steer local infrastructure programs, review performance and SLAs, and support resolution of complex technical issues.
• Promote Agile delivery, DevOps, automation, and standardized planning across operating companies.
• Scale hybrid and multi-cloud environments; drive data-center consolidation, virtualization, and legacy-to-cloud migrations.
• Guide workplace platforms and managed services, including unified communications, productivity suites, and identity and access management.
• Work with sourcing on bids, vendor selection, and hyperscaler relationships; manage group CapEx, OpEx, and FinOps.
• Embed zero-trust, disaster recovery, and data privacy requirements; support commercial plans and M&A technology due diligence.

Experience and qualifications

• At least 15 years of directly relevant experience and a technology degree.
• Previous operating-company technology director experience or equivalent group technology experience in mobile telecommunications.
• Extensive cloud and infrastructure strategy experience and knowledge of major cloud providers and virtualization.
• Experience designing and operating GPU training and inference platforms across cloud or on-premises environments, including tenant isolation, scheduling, and quotas.
• Experience owning Microsoft 365 tenant architecture and governance.
• Strong business translation, strategic relationship, and influence skills; international experience is preferred.
• Fixed telecommunications experience and MENA or Southeast Asia experience are preferred.

Skills and languages

• Required cloud certification from AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
• Advanced skills include technology strategy, technology performance management, IT, analytical thinking, cloud technologies, IT infrastructure, collaboration solutions, GPU/HPC technologies, and ITIL practices.
• English fluency is required; Arabic or French is a plus.
• Behavioral capabilities include collaborative influence, ownership, customer value, team leadership, change leadership, and strategy shaping.
