Role overview
An Associate Director of Design will join Jumeirah Group & Corporate.
The role coordinates hotel design projects and works with the Design Director to deliver the brand's design vision and standards.
Design project delivery
- Partner with the Design Director on strategies for developments, renovations, refurbishments, and PIP projects.
- Lead design coordination across hotel project stages, aligning design execution with brand standards, guest experience, operations, and timelines.
- Coordinate architecture, interiors, landscape, lighting, signage, FF&E, finishes, materials, and space planning with external consultants.
- Manage design briefs, scopes, presentations, and deliverables; track risks, budgets, and progress and recommend solutions when escalating issues.
- Conduct site inspections, mock-up reviews, and construction follow-ups to protect design quality and integrity.
- Collaborate with project teams, designers, artists, suppliers, and stakeholders, and support the evolution of brand guidelines.
Required qualifications and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong expertise in space planning, layout development, guest experience, and operational efficiency.
- Leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and project-management skills.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder-management skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and understanding of luxury hospitality brand standards.
Preferred education
- A master's degree in Architecture and/or an MBA is preferred.
