Job Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.
• Candidates must have substantial experience in the courtroom, in the area of creditors’ rights and consumer laws (both state and federal), in drafting forms and in performing legal research.
• Administrative responsibilities will include preparing forms and developing processes.
• Attorney will also have full litigation responsibilities including review of correspondence, review of files to determine whether they are suit appropriate, review and/or approval of all pleadings, motions and discovery, and attend all types of hearings and trials in a high volume environment.
• Additionally, candidates should be knowledgeable in post judgment remedies including attachment and garnishment.
• Attorney will be responsible for managing high-volume docket of civil litigation cases in the area of debt-collection through all phases of litigation from commencement through post-judgment actions.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Must have bar admission in North Carolina. Preference will be given to attorneys who are licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize high volumes of information.
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Frequently required to talk or hear, and use hand to type, handle, or touch objects.
• Regularly required to stand and walk, and may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at times.
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
