Accountable for the building carbon perimeter, including electricity, renewable generation, fugitive emissions, water, and waste.
Uses operational data to drive performance improvement and executive reporting aligned with UAE Net Zero 2050 and Expo City Dubai commitments.
Energy and solar
- Develop venue- and system-level energy baselines; optimize BMS/IoT operations and identify, prioritize, document, and monitor energy-saving measures.
- Conduct, supervise, or commission energy audits; track indicators, demand profiles, peak demand, alarms, schedules, and consumption anomalies.
- Monitor solar yield and performance ratios; manage cleaning optimization, coordinate O&M, maintain generation records, and investigate faults and improvement opportunities.
Water, emissions, and waste
- Map water meters and consumption points, establish end-use baselines, investigate leaks and anomalies, report intensity, and scope efficiency initiatives.
- Maintain the carbon inventory and fugitive-emissions register; support reporting for Estidama, LEED, and Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence.
- Coordinate waste segregation and reporting; track waste categories, diversion, contractor manifests, hazardous waste, and construction waste.
Data, reporting, and strategy
- Maintain utility meter maps and data collection pipelines from BMS, IoT, manual readings, and facilities contractors; validate, clean, and normalize data.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, set data-quality and anomaly protocols, and prepare monthly/quarterly performance and annual sustainability reports.
- Maintain the net-zero roadmap, prepare CAPEX business cases and executive briefings, monitor regulatory changes, support certification, and review contractor sustainability KPIs.
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/HVAC Engineering and/or HVAC Automation.
- Utilities management experience focused on net-zero strategies and resource optimization.
- Strong data collection, cleaning, integration, analytics, and BI/data-visualization skills; Power BI is preferred.
- Understanding of energy/utilities systems, renewables, metering, and waste management; analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with sustainability standards and regulations.
Desirable qualifications
- Energy management or sustainability certifications such as CEM, LEED, or WELL AP are desirable.
- Carbon accounting/GHG inventory, facilities management, and IoT energy-monitoring experience are desirable.
