Assistant Manager – Bar Operations

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Support the Bar Manager with daily bar operations and lead, coach and motivate the team.
• Maintain beverage quality, presentation and service standards and create a welcoming guest atmosphere.
• Assist with scheduling, training and performance development.
• Monitor stock, wastage, ordering and beverage costs; support menu development, promotions and creative beverage concepts.
• Ensure health, safety, hygiene and licensing compliance; handle guest feedback and resolve concerns.
• Drive revenue through upselling and product knowledge, and coordinate with Food and Beverage and other hotel departments.

Candidate requirements

• Previous supervisory or assistant management experience in a busy bar, restaurant or hotel environment.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer and contemporary beverage trends.
• Excellent communication, leadership and guest-service skills; creative, confident and hands-on approach.
• Commercial awareness, attention to detail, a positive attitude and genuine passion for hospitality.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Relevant hospitality qualifications are an advantage.
