Full-time, non-management position in Engineering and Facilities at Palm Jumeirah, Dubai.
The position combines hands-on equipment and facilities maintenance with assistance in employee management.
Maintenance and safety
- Install, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment; recommend replacements.
- Calibrate controls, gauges, and meters; operate shut-off valves; inspect equipment and machines.
- Order and stock parts and supplies, and maintain inventory and purchase-order logs.
- Complete life-safety checklists, including fire-pump and generator tests; inspect sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
- Assist with disaster response protocols and respond to guest repair requests.
Team and guest service
- Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and coaching employees.
- Follow safety and security policies, report hazards and incidents, and complete safety training and certifications.
- Welcome guests, address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and maintain professional working relationships.
- Help uphold quality standards and improve organizational efficiency, productivity, safety, and cost savings.
Preferred qualifications
- A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
- At least two years of related work experience and two years of supervisory experience are preferred.
- Physical duties include lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance, standing or walking for extended periods, and using stairs or service ramps.
