Position Overview
Assistant Chief Engineer responsible for hotel building and systems maintenance, repairs, engineering performance, and team leadership.
The role supports guest experiences by maintaining safe, reliable, and well-functioning hotel facilities.
Typical Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, supervise, mentor, and evaluate engineering team members.
- Oversee daily maintenance operations and verify completion through the property maintenance management system.
- Resolve maintenance requests, guest concerns, and emergencies in a timely manner.
- Maintain building, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and life safety systems.
- Coordinate inspections and uphold national and local safety and compliance standards.
- Monitor engineering KPIs covering equipment upkeep, audit results, and team productivity.
- Support evacuation procedures, duty manager coverage, and other hotel safety protocols.
- Supervise contractors and inspect completed work for quality and compliance.
- Support energy conservation programs designed to reduce utility costs.
