The Assistant Chief Engineer oversees physical building and systems maintenance and repairs at a Hilton hotel.
The role supports the Chief Engineer and contributes to guest experience and hotel safety.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor team members; conduct performance evaluations, support development, and recognize achievements.
- Assist the Chief Engineer with daily maintenance operations, task prioritization, and completion checks through the property maintenance management system.
- Ensure timely resolution of service requests, guest concerns, and emergencies.
- Oversee building, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and life safety systems; coordinate inspections and uphold local and national safety and compliance standards.
- Monitor equipment upkeep, audit results, and team productivity KPIs and act to improve performance.
- Work with hotel leadership on evacuation procedures, duty manager coverage, and safety protocols.
- Supervise contractors and inspect completed work for quality and compliance.
- Support property-wide energy conservation programs to reduce utility costs.
