Assistant Accountant

Role overview

Compensation

• Starting salary is AED 2,500 per month; the salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Employment type

Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records and transactions; handle accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, monthly financial and management reports, and other financial documents.
• Perform bank, account, customer, and supplier reconciliations; monitor cash flow and outstanding balances.
• Assist with VAT accounting, filings, and compliance; coordinate with auditors and provide supporting records.
• Maintain accounting documentation and filing; support management with financial analysis and accounting information.
• Follow company accounting policies and procedures and applicable UAE requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience is preferred; 2 years of account management experience is listed as required.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting; experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel; strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Good communication and organizational skills; ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred qualifications

• Previous UAE/GCC accounting experience and knowledge of UAE VAT and applicable compliance requirements are preferred.
• Experience with Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, Zoho, or similar systems is preferred.
• Experience in waste management, environmental services, logistics, or the industrial sector is advantageous.
