Architect - Technical

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, documentation, and coordination for complex facility projects.
• Perform technical architectural assignments and apply architectural standards and procedures.
• Develop and maintain architectural BIM models in Autodesk Revit.
• Produce coordinated drawings, schedules, details, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, civil, and specialist disciplines; participate in BIM coordination and help resolve clashes.
• Support building-envelope, façade, interior-layout, and space-planning work.
• Prepare reports, specifications, schedules, and technical documents; support quality, drawing, and compliance reviews.
• Participate in design reviews, coordination and client meetings, and workshops; collaborate across offices.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a closely related field.
• At least 6 years of related industry experience is stated in one required list; another list states at least 5 years.
• Registered Architect; proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiar with related tools and processes.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Project.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and preparing and laying out architectural contract documents and specifications.
• Demonstrated graphic presentation skills; strong leadership, communication, relationship-management, analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills.
• Commitment to active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with data center, mission-critical, industrial, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, laboratory, or other technically complex building projects.
• Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks, or similar coordination platforms; working knowledge of BIM coordination and clash detection.
• Understanding of building codes, life-safety principles, and construction documentation.
