Lead Electrical Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical engineers’ work with the multidisciplinary team throughout project development.
• Establish client relationships and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings concerning electrical systems.
• Lead electrical work on multiple projects.
• Participate in governing-agency reviews for code compliance.
• Conduct schematic, design-development, and contract-document work sessions at project sites with project managers, architects, and other disciplines.
• Coordinate project workload to complete documents on schedule.
• Track project financials and adjust team effort to meet agreed schedules and project parameters.
• Work with project managers and regional controllers on project reviews with corporate management as needed.
• Direct electrical engineering professionals and mentor staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• At least 10 years of experience in electrical design of buildings, including lighting, power, and systems.
• Professional engineering licence recognized by the licensing board for the position location, such as PE or P.Eng.
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, and signal design, including life-safety and building-management systems.
• Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
• Commitment to active participation in the employee-owned culture.
