Role overview

Role responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical engineers’ work with the multidisciplinary team throughout project development and serve as electrical lead on multiple projects.
• Build client relationships and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings concerning electrical systems.
• Participate in governing-agency code-compliance reviews and conduct design and contract-document work sessions at project sites.
• Coordinate workload to complete documents on schedule; track project financials and adjust team effort to meet agreed parameters.
• Work with project managers and regional controllers on project reviews with corporate management as needed.
• Direct electrical engineering professionals and mentor staff as needed; perform other duties as needed.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• At least 10 years of experience in electrical design of buildings, including lighting, power, or systems.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position location; examples include PE or P.Eng.
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.
• Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
• Commitment to active participation in HDR’s employee-owned culture.
