Architect - Data Center Construction

Overview

Key responsibilities

• Develop architectural designs for data center facilities, ensuring functionality, efficiency, scalability, and compliance with project requirements.
• Produce concept, schematic, detailed design, and construction documentation packages.
• Coordinate closely with structural, mechanical, electrical, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of building systems.
• Ensure designs comply with local regulations, authority requirements, international standards, and client specifications applicable to mission-critical facilities.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical architectural guidance throughout planning, design, construction, and handover phases.
• Work collaboratively with BIM teams to develop, review, and coordinate 3D models and construction drawings.
• Optimize spatial planning, equipment layouts, circulation, operational workflows, and maintenance access requirements within data center environments.
• Support white space engineering and installation teams by developing efficient layouts and space utilization strategies.
• Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide design clarifications during construction.
• Assist with permitting processes and ensure compliance with all relevant Qatar authority requirements.
• Contribute to value engineering initiatives and design optimization efforts to improve project performance, constructability, and cost efficiency.
• Attend and participate in coordination meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or related discipline.
• Minimum 7+ years of architectural design and construction experience, including significant exposure to Data Center projects.
• Proven experience delivering mission-critical or hyperscale data center facilities.
• Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, building codes, authority approvals, and construction documentation.
• Experience coordinating with MEP, structural, BIM, and construction teams on complex projects.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, BIM workflows, and architectural design software.
• Familiarity with international data center design standards and best practices.
• Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Previous experience working on projects in the Middle East is preferred.
• Must be eligible to work in Qatar or obtain the required work authorization.
