Join AtkinsRéalis' Rivers, Dams, Maritime & Coastal Design Team in Bangalore as an Apprentice.
The team is part of the Infrastructure (Environmental and Water Management) group within the Water & Environment business.
The team delivers projects for UK and international clients.
Role and project work
- Assist in civil and structural design and analysis of civil engineering structures using relevant codes, including IS, BS, Eurocode, or American codes.
- Support modeling and analysis using Robot, STAAD.Pro, and other engineering software.
- Help prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation for project deliverables.
- Project areas include flood defence schemes, hydraulic structures such as dams, weirs, and gates, and ports and maritime infrastructure.
- Gain exposure to river and coastal engineering, hydrology and hydraulics, and structural detailing.
- Stay updated with industry trends, safety standards, and sustainable engineering practices.
Candidate requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent; M.Tech in Structures is preferred.
- Basic understanding of river and coastal engineering, including flood defence design and refurbishment of hydraulic structures.
- Familiarity with reinforced concrete and steelwork design principles.
- Awareness of health and safety in design and construction; understanding of UK legislation such as CDM Regulations 2015 is desirable.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and prepare basic sketches.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Good presentation skills, time management, willingness to learn and adapt, and ability to follow quality procedures and maintain high standards.
