About the role
Analytics Engineer in the Food Discovery Algorithms team, building machine-learning-driven features to help customers find restaurants and dishes.
Works in a data-driven, multidisciplinary team with data scientists, a product manager, an analyst, and engineers.
The team needs reliable, suitable, easy-to-use data for product features and analytics.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement SQL ETL datasets for model training, feature-performance evaluation, and other purposes.
- Quality-assure and document datasets, with observability to detect anomalies in underlying data.
- Gather requirements from product, engineering, or data science to build datasets.
- Contribute to product feature definition based on the data points that power those features.
What you will bring
- Experience with SQL, including understanding how to improve query efficiency.
- Experience working with and analyzing data; ability to plot distributions and describe dataset characteristics.
- Statistical or mathematical awareness.
- Experience with data quality and handling missing values using informed domain-based decisions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product, IT stakeholders, and colleagues.
- Prior machine learning experience is not required; candidates with data analyst or SQL-heavy data engineering experience may also fit.
Advantageous experience
- Web and app tracking implementations on customer-facing or ecommerce applications are advantageous.
- Some understanding of cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and event-driven architecture is advantageous.
