Join the Food Discovery Algorithms team, which builds machine-learning-driven features to help customers find restaurants and dishes.
Work with data scientists, a product manager, analysts and engineers to ensure data for features and analytics is reliable, suitable and easy to use.
The role suits a self-starter interested in data, experimentation and machine learning who can work with uncertainty and evolving requirements. Prior machine-learning experience is not required.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement SQL ETL datasets for purposes including model training and feature-performance evaluation.
- Quality-assure and document datasets, with sufficient observability to detect anomalies in underlying data.
- Collect data requirements from product, engineering or data science when needed.
- Contribute to product feature definition using knowledge of the data points that will power features.
What you will bring
- SQL experience, including understanding how to improve query efficiency.
- Experience working with and analysing data; ability to plot distributions and describe dataset qualities, with statistical or mathematical awareness.
- Experience handling data quality and missing values, making informed decisions based on the domain.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product, IT stakeholders and colleagues.
- Web and app tracking on customer-facing or ecommerce applications is advantageous.
- Some understanding of AWS, Azure or Google Cloud and event-driven architecture is advantageous.
- Data analysts or data engineers with substantial SQL experience may also fit; prior analytics or BI engineering experience is not expected.
