About This Role
An AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) Operator monitors, troubleshoots, and manages smart meter networks, work orders, and data validation. They act as a central command point for installing, diagnosing, and repairing AMI devices (smart water meters) while ensuring accurate data for billing and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
System Monitoring: Oversee the Command Center system to manage AMI meter rollouts and daily operational activities.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues with AMI devices, including meters, relays, and access points.
Data Validation: Ensure accurate data collection, validation, and transfer from meters to billing systems.
Work Order Management: Issue and manage service orders for installation, replacement, disconnection, and reconnection.
Coordination & Reporting: Coordinate with field technicians, customers, and contractors while preparing daily/monthly technical reports
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of experience in operation and maintenance of AMI systems, preferably with vendor-specific software (e.g., Siemens Head End).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in data management, computer systems, and troubleshooting meter communication issues.
Communication: Strong communication skills to interact with customers, contractors, and internal departments.
