Role summary

The Artificial Intelligence Intern supports the design, development, testing, and implementation of practical AI solutions.

The internship provides hands-on exposure to generative AI, large language models, machine learning, natural language processing, data analytics, automation, and AI application development.

Interns collaborate with technology, service delivery, and business teams to identify use cases, develop prototypes, and help turn successful concepts into secure, scalable solutions.

The program is intended for students or recent graduates with programming fundamentals, analytical thinking, and interest in production-oriented AI.

AI and machine learning work

  • Develop LLM applications, assistants, chatbots, copilots, and knowledge-search tools; test prompts and explore model settings.
  • Support retrieval-augmented generation, document processing, embeddings, vector search, and supervised or unsupervised machine-learning models.
  • Prepare datasets, perform basic feature selection and engineering, train and evaluate models, document results, and support optimization.
  • Collect, clean, organize, transform, label, and document structured and unstructured data; create repeatable processing scripts.
  • Build AI-powered web applications and internal tools, integrate models through approved APIs, and develop backend components and simple interfaces.
  • Analyze repetitive business processes and prototype AI automation for document processing, classification, summarization, reporting, and retrieval.
  • Create and run tests for AI applications and outputs; assess accuracy, relevance, safety, retrieval quality, and performance; document defects and validate changes.
  • Research models, frameworks, and development techniques; compare options and prepare technical summaries and demonstrations.
  • Document architecture, data flows, prompts, APIs, and configurations; prepare user guides, present progress, and share reusable components.

Candidate profile and data safeguards

  • Strong programming fundamentals, analytical thinking, and genuine interest in building production-oriented AI applications.
  • Students or recent graduates are described as suitable candidates for the internship.
  • Backend development may use Python or another approved programming language.
  • Follow data-retention, confidentiality, and access-control requirements; do not use sensitive data in unauthorized public AI tools.

  • Apply AI to business and technology problems and gain practical experience with generative AI and machine learning.
  • Develop AI-powered applications, assistants, automation workflows, and projects suitable for a professional portfolio.
  • Learn how AI solutions are evaluated, secured, and deployed, including responsible AI, data privacy, and information security.
  • Work with structured and unstructured business data in a professional software-development environment.

Possible work includes IT service desk assistants, ticket classification, incident summaries, knowledge-base search, and customer-support chatbots.

Other examples include proposal generation, procurement analysis, supplier comparison, résumé screening support, candidate matching, sales research, and document summarization.
