Role overview

Responsibilities

• Oversee curriculum implementation and coordinate teaching schedules for Asian studies and language training courses.
• Manage faculty and support staff, foster an inclusive learning environment, and monitor student progress and program outcomes.
• Lead strategic planning, quality assurance, stakeholder engagement, and program representation in meetings.
• Build partnerships, organize outreach, and promote the program to prospective students and institutional partners.

Qualifications

• Advanced academic background in Asian Studies or a closely related field; Ph.D. or equivalent is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership in higher education program management, curriculum coordination, or academic administration.
• Strong knowledge of one or more Asian regions and interdisciplinary approaches to history, culture, politics, and society.
• Proficiency in at least one Asian language is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, and commitment to gender-neutral and inclusive academic practices.
• Experience with partnerships, academic events, and program promotion.
• Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru and coordinate with international teams and the wider Leiden University community.
