Overview and Objectives of the Position:

Lecturers at Murdoch University Dubai are responsible for delivering high quality education to a diverse cohort of students.

Responsibilities will include delivery of lectures and labs to UG and diploma students, marking of assignments and supporting students in their work.

Drawing on both academic expertise and industry experience, the lecturer will bridge project management theory with real-world applications, enabling students to understand the full project lifecycle and apply contemporary methodologies, frameworks, tools, and ethical practices in diverse ICT environments.

Teaching Experience

  • Demonstrated experience teaching

Project Management

  • at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels
  • Experience teaching within Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines in a higher education environment

Qualifications

  • AQF Level 9 Master's degree in Information Technology or a closely related field & AQF Level 7 Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a closely related field, combined with proven teaching experience in project management at undergraduate or postgraduate levels

Required Industry Experience

  • Demonstrated experience managing or contributing to ICT projects in industry environments
  • Hands-on experience across the project lifecycle, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
  • Practical experience in project scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, resource, procurement, stakeholder, and communications management
  • Experience using project management tools and platforms for scheduling, budgeting, tracking, and reporting
  • Exposure to ICT system development projects and cross-functional project teams
  • Experience applying project governance, quality assurance, and ethical decision-making frameworks within ICT projects

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and industry-relevant lectures and tutorials in ICT project management
  • Guide students through the full project lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure
  • Facilitate practical learning through real-world case studies and project scenarios
  • Support students in applying project management tools, methodologies, and ethical frameworks to ICT projects
  • Mentor students in developing project schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and stakeholder communication plans

Knowledge, Attributes & Skills

Strong understanding of the

Project Management Body Of Knowledge (Pmbok)

framework

Prince2

and

Itil

methodologies is an advantage

šŸ”¹ Knowledge of project integration management and quality standards such as

Iso 9000 And 9001
