Title: Adjunct Lecturer for Cyber Forensics and Incident Handling (IT)

Division : Murdoch University, Dubai

Reports to : The Dean & Discipline Lead

1 . Overview and Objectives of the Position:

Lecturers at Murdoch University Dubai are responsible for delivering high quality education to a diverse cohort of students. Responsibilities will include delivery of Cyber Forensics and Incident Handling to UG level students, marking of assignments and supporting students in their work. 

This unit plays a critical role in developing students knowledge and practical skills in cyber forensics, security operations, and incident response. It focuses on equipping students with the ability to analyse digital evidence, respond to security incidents, and apply forensic techniques within legal and ethical frameworks.

We are seeking high-calibre professionals with a strong blend of academic expertise and industry experience in cyber security, digital forensics, and incident response, with the ability to integrate theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.

2. Key Result Areas:

Teaching and learning

•Prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, tutorials, and workshops and conduct student assessments.

•Participate in moderation processes with the home campus Unit Coordinator.

•Maintain knowledge of current pedagogical practice and learning theories

3.Qualifications and Selection Criteria

Essential:

i. Tertiary qualifications at the postgraduate level in a relevant discipline area, PhD strongly preferred. 

ii. Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in the delivery of high-quality teaching at tertiary education level. 

iii. Demonstrated experience in contributing to the development of scholarly and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. 

iv. Demonstrated ability to engage students in learning activities. 

v. Demonstrated high level of written and oral communication skills.

Strong knowledge of the following topics:

a. Introduction to cyber forensics, security operations and incident response

b. Security Operations Centre, SIEM technology, data sources, logging, monitoring and auditing

c. Security analytics, Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) 

d. Incident response and management, incident reporting, post incident activities

e. Forensic data acquisition, duplication, analysis, validation and reporting

f. Malware analysis and forensics

g. OS forensics

h. VM, mobile device forensics

i. Email, graphic file forensics

j. Network, IoT and Cloud forensics 

k. Ethics and laws, anti-forensics
