Accounts Manager – (Real Estate Industry) | UAE

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Management: Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records and reports for the real estate projects.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and UAE accounting standards.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process for various real estate projects, providing detailed financial forecasts, tracking project costs, and managing cash flow.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Supervise the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payment of vendors and contractors, as well as collection of receivables.
• Project Cost Control: Monitor and control project budgets, track expenditures, and identify potential cost overruns. Advise project managers on financial performance.
• Tax & Compliance: Ensure compliance with VAT, corporate tax, and other regulatory requirements. Prepare tax returns and manage audits with external parties.
• Contract Management: Review and negotiate financial terms of contracts, ensuring proper financial risk management for all real estate projects.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounts team, providing training, guidance, and support for professional development.
• Financial Analysis: Provide financial insights to senior management for decision-making, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for cost reduction.
• Cash Flow Management: Ensure optimal cash flow to meet operational needs and project requirements, managing working capital effectively.
• Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls and financial procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.

Key Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are a plus.
• Experience: At least 7 years of proven experience in an accounts management role within the real estate industry in the UAE, with hands-on experience in project accounting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the real estate industry in the UAE, including project management and financial practices specific to real estate projects.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Knowledge of UAE taxation laws, VAT, and compliance requirements.
• Leadership: Strong team management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent financial analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in financial recordkeeping and reporting.
• Language: Proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
