Accounting Specialist

About This Role

Role Purpose

The Accountant – Accounting & Reporting is responsible for end-to-end financial accounting, reporting, and consolidation activities across multiple legal entities. The role ensures accurate month-end and year-end close, statutory compliance, audit readiness, and group reporting, while maintaining strong control over general ledger, AR/AP, and balance sheet accounts.

This position requires hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion or Oracle E-Business Suite and close coordination with auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Accounting, Finalization & Reporting
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial statements in line with accounting standards and group reporting requirements.
• Support group consolidation, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
• Maintain and review balance sheet schedules, ensuring timely clearance of reconciling items.
• Support management reporting, variance analysis, and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.

Accounts Receivable (AR) & Accounts Payable (AP) Oversight

• Oversee AR and AP cycles to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely processing.
• Review customer invoicing, receipts application, and AR aging; support collection follow-ups where required.
• Review supplier invoices for contractual and VAT compliance and monitor payment cycles.
• Ensure accruals are recorded for services rendered but not yet invoiced.
• Monitor DSO and DPO and highlight risks or deviations to management.

Audit, Compliance & Statutory Requirements

• Act as a key finance contact for internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and audit support.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT and CT regulations, including reconciliations and support for VAT / CT returns.
• Ensure all financial records are well-supported, compliant, and audit-ready.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and group finance teams on statutory and reporting matters.

Systems, Controls & Process Improvement

• Perform accounting and reporting activities using Oracle Fusion or Oracle E-Business Suite.
• Ensure adherence to ERP workflows, approval matrices, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency within finance operations.
• Support ERP enhancements, reporting improvements, and finance transformation initiatives.
• Systems & Tools
• Oracle Fusion ERP or Oracle E-Business Suite (mandatory, hands-on experience)
• Advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, financial analysis)
• Exposure to consolidation and reporting tools is an advantage

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with a professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CFA, or CIMA mandatory.
• 5–7 years of relevant UAE experience in financial accounting, reporting, and finalization.
• Proven experience managing multiple legal entities.
• Strong exposure to audits, statutory reporting, and compliance.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion or Oracle EBS (mandatory)
