Accounting Manager

Opportunity

What you'll do

• Lead and develop Accounts Payable, supporting accurate and timely processing, payments, and reconciliations.
• Map accounting and Procure-to-Pay workflows to find repetitive tasks, handoffs, bottlenecks, and errors.
• Build an automation roadmap for touchless processing with controls and exception handling.
• Own automation projects from discovery and requirements through design, implementation, testing, training, and adoption.
• Ensure changes support correct general-ledger and P&L transactions and accurate period-end reporting.
• Improve processes spanning purchasing, receiving, invoice matching, vendor management, approvals, payments, and reconciliations.
• Partner across Accounting, business teams, Distribution Centers, and systems teams to resolve root causes and redesign workflows.
• Strengthen controls, audit trails, reconciliations, and documentation; apply AI with validation and oversight.
• Track automation and process measures and support audit readiness and financial reporting.

What you bring

• Experience as an Accounting Manager and a strong full-cycle accounting foundation, including general ledger, reconciliations, period-end close, audits, and P&L.
• Ability to assess effects of AP and purchasing changes on expense recognition, balances, controls, and reporting.
• Demonstrated accounting or finance workflow automation experience through implementation, testing, adoption, and measured results.
• Experience owning an accounting or finance system implementation, integration, or major workflow redesign.
• Practical Procure-to-Pay knowledge, including invoices, purchase orders, approvals, matching, payments, and reconciliations.
• People-management experience and strong ERP knowledge.
• Able to deliver improvements with minimal direction and communicate practical solutions to business and technical partners.
• CPA designation and Big Four audit experience are highly preferred.
• Private-industry accounting, inventory-centered business, inventory accounting, NetSuite, SPS Commerce EDI, ChatGPT, or Claude experience are bonuses.

Work model

• Remote-first flexibility; Ottawa or Toronto is preferred for this role.

Compensation

• Base salary range is CAD $120,000 to $140,000; the posting does not specify a pay period.
