Role Description

Fortune 5 is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team in Dubai. This is a full-time, on-site role responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations within the real estate sector. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial records, support project and escrow accounting, manage receivables and payables, assist with VAT compliance, and contribute to timely financial reporting and month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Record daily accounting transactions accurately in the accounting system
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper classification of income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and project costs
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and adjustments
• Manage accounts receivable, customer collections, and reconciliation of customer payments with bank deposits
• Maintain customer statements, unit-wise collection records, and flag overdue payments
• Verify supplier, contractor, and consultant invoices against contracts, LPOs, BOQs, approvals, and completion certificates
• Prepare payment vouchers and track advances, retention, milestone payments, and outstanding liabilities
• Maintain escrow account records and support documentation for payment release requests
• Track escrow inflows, approved outflows, and project-related bank movements
• Record and reconcile intercompany and related-party transactions
• Prepare VAT workings, input/output VAT reconciliations, and support VAT return filing
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations for operating, escrow, and project accounts
• Track project costs against approved budgets and payment milestones
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing
• Prepare schedules for receivables, payables, accruals, advances, deposits, retention, and provisions
• Support audit requirements by preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries
• Maintain organized records of invoices, receipts, contracts, approvals, and reconciliations
• Support payroll accounting, if assigned
• Update ERP/accounting records, finance trackers, and master data
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and UAE regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in Real Estate accounting in the UAE
• 3+ years of experience in Accounting/Auditing
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
• Experience in budget management, financial analysis, and forecasting
• Knowledge of escrow accounting, project accounting, and VAT compliance
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is an advantage
• Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a plus
