About the role
The company is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive Accountant for its finance team in Dubai.
The role manages day-to-day financial transactions, maintains accurate ledgers, supports financial reporting, and assists with UAE accounting and tax compliance, including Corporate Tax and VAT.
Key responsibilities
- Handle daily bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
- Process client invoices, monitor collections, and track vendor payments.
- Assist with preparing, filing, and computing UAE VAT returns and Corporate Tax compliance under FTA guidelines.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheet schedules for management.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing documentation, schedules, and financial records.
- Review and process employee expense reports, petty cash, and corporate disbursements.
- Work with operations, administration, and management to improve financial workflows and record-keeping.
Qualifications and skills
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field is required.
- At least 2 years of hands-on accounting experience is required; UAE experience is preferred.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and financial reporting standards is required.
- Working knowledge of UAE VAT laws and Corporate Tax regulations is required.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Tally, or ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, structured problem-solving, and excellent English communication are required.
- Arabic proficiency is an added advantage.
