Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site AC/Chiller Technician role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The AC/Chiller Technician will be responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining AC and chiller systems, including inspecting components, checking refrigerant levels, and verifying proper system performance.

Daily tasks include diagnosing faults, performing troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and control systems, and carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance.

The role also involves responding to breakdowns, logging service activities, coordinating with supervisors and other technicians, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.

The technician will support other building systems as required and contribute to continuous improvement of facility operations.

Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting skills in AC, chiller, and related HVAC systems, with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and control issues efficiently.
  • Hands-on experience in preventive maintenance for chillers, package units, split units, pumps, and associated HVAC equipment.
  • Working knowledge of electricity and basic controls relevant to HVAC systems, including reading wiring diagrams and using electrical testing tools.
  • Exposure to plumbing systems related to chillers and HVAC (piping, valves, condensate drains, cooling water circuits) is an advantage.
  • Understanding of relevant environmental and safety regulations (e.g., refrigerant handling, EPA-equivalent standards), and adherence to safe work practices.
  • Technical diploma, trade certificate, or equivalent qualification in HVAC, refrigeration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience as an AC/Chiller Technician or similar role in facilities management, building services, or commercial/industrial settings.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and service reports, with basic computer skills for work order and maintenance documentation.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
  • Willingness to work shifts, respond to emergency calls, and perform duties across multiple sites as required.
