Role & Responsibilities

· Maintains work schedule for assigned area of responsibility.

· Initiate ideas and modifications to improve equipment reliability and safety.

· Update repair procedures if needed.

· Implements changes, expansions, and additions to Refrigeration & HVAC systems by identifying problems.

· Troubleshoot problems with units (electrical or mechanical).

· Performs general maintenance and preventative maintenance on buildings and others.

· Replace motors and compressors all kinds of HVAC parts (using HVAC tools)

· Carries out preventive maintenance and air conditioning equipment and systems.

· Install, inspect, maintain, and repair air conditioners.

· Ventilate equipment and controls making sure they operate efficiently and continuously.

· Perform regular maintenance work on cooling units.

· Diagnose electrical and mechanical defects and malfunctions.

· Install, replace, or repair equipment that has been damaged.

· Make adjustments and calibrations of thermostatic controls.

· Install new air-conditioning systems and equipment.

· Inspect and maintain Split unit, DX unit, Window unit, package unit, FCU and AHU, and chilled water supply systems.

· Clean blowers and coils, and check tensions of belts and motors.

· Make plans and designs of new air-conditioning systems including their installation and maintenance.

· Other duties assigned by supervisor.

Education /Experience

· High school diploma in HVAC, GED, or suitable equivalent.

· 1+ year experience as an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in the HVAC field.

· Valid driver’s license in UAE (advance).

· Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.

· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

· Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.

· Ability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short or no notice.

· Ability to work in confined spaces.

· The air conditioning technicians should be able to work in places where they are exposed to dust, fumes, noise, toxic materials, and low-voltage equipment.

· They should also be capable of working in confined and hot spaces like roofs, crawl ways, and attics.

· They may also have to work in adverse weather and may be required to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, kneel, or stand for long stretches of time.
