Program overview

The Field Representative Development Program is a 1–2 year development program combining cohort training and rotational assignments.

The program starts February 1, 2027, and is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with international travel.

The stated work format is full time, 40 hours per week, primarily onsite five days per week, with domestic and international travel.

Training and rotations

  • The first three months include travel across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia to visit Caterpillar offices, Cat dealers, and customer sites.
  • Participants build communication and leadership skills and connect with peers and mentors.
  • Participants complete 12–24 months of rotations, potentially at their home location or through domestic or international assignments.
  • Rotations expose participants to different parts of the business, technical and commercial work, and strategic projects.

Potential field opportunities

  • Program graduates may move into field-based roles supporting Cat dealers and customers.
  • A listed opportunity is Marketing and Sales Operations Representative, collaborating with dealers to build capability, improve processes, and execute strategies.
  • The representative may lead improvement project portfolios, use data storytelling, and develop solutions that help dealers meet customer needs.

Program qualifications

  • A degree in engineering, marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel internationally 50–70%, depending on assignments, and willingness to live abroad for up to three months.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic.
  • Valid passport and ability to obtain required international travel visas.
  • An analytical mindset and proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel and Power BI, for cleaning, summarizing, visualizing, and communicating data.

Preferred background

  • The program is described as ideal for early-career candidates with 0–3 years of relevant experience; internships and academic projects are a plus.
  • Experience supporting or leading small projects, participation in tech or innovation activities, and multicultural or international experience are desirable.
  • A third language is a plus.

Skills sought

  • Critical thinking, problem solving, communication, stakeholder management, adaptability, learning agility, digital and data literacy, teamwork, and collaboration.

Program support

  • Participants receive a personalized development plan, a dedicated coach, training, mentorship, and access to a global peer network and knowledge ecosystem.
  • The program offers international exposure, possible time abroad for a rotation, and a development path toward roles across the business.
