Internship overview
The Year-Round Internship is a 12-month opportunity running from January through December 2027.
The program is open to actively enrolled undergraduate and graduate students.
Interns work up to 20 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer, with a 1,000-hour cap.
Work model
- The role is based in Chicago and follows OCC's Hybrid Work Program.
- Employees generally work from an OCC office at least three days per week, with Tuesday and Wednesday as required anchor days.
- Eligible employees may generally work remotely two additional days per week from their state of residence.
Job responsibilities
- Log, categorize, prioritize, and investigate ServiceNow tickets, including checking for duplicate or related tickets.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, Wi-Fi, VPN, and account access issues.
- Reset passwords, unlock accounts, and provision applications through virtual desktop infrastructure.
- Escalate complex issues to Level 2 or Level 3 support with detailed documentation.
- Follow up with users, close resolved tickets, and maintain knowledge base and internal documentation.
- Communicate clearly with non-technical users throughout the support process.
Candidate qualifications
- Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
- Computer Science or a comparable major is desired.
- Basic understanding of Windows 10 or Windows 11, Active Directory, and virtual desktop infrastructure.
- Basic troubleshooting ability, including reproducing issues, isolating causes, and escalating when appropriate.
- Precise written communication and ability to explain technical issues in plain language.
- Exposure to scripting or automation is desired.

Compensation
- The listed salary range is $25.00 to $25.00, and the role may be eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.
