Yard Attendant

Position details

Equipment and yard duties

• Inspect rental equipment before and after each rental to check condition and safety.
• Prepare and transport equipment from the yard to customer vehicles or delivery trucks; secure equipment in customer vehicles.
• Store equipment in designated yard zones or transfer units to the shop when repairs are needed.
• Wash, clean, and grease equipment, and fill propane tanks as required.
• Monitor propane and fuel inventory levels.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard and work environment.
• Verify required identification and decals are present on rental equipment.

Customer and safety duties

• Explain safe and proper equipment operation to customers.
• Follow workplace safety protocols and environmentally sound practices.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support other branch operations as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a team, juggle multiple priorities, and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work independently with strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong commitment to safe work practices, environmental responsibility, and workplace health and safety policies.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-service orientation.
• Familiarity with construction equipment and building products is sought.
• Lift truck operating experience and technical understanding of CAT equipment are assets.
