Wet Utilities Inspector

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Inspect stormwater drainage, sewerage, potable water, and irrigation construction and associated pipelines, structures, and fittings.
• Verify pipeline alignment, levels, gradients, bedding, jointing, excavation, shoring, dewatering, pipe laying, backfilling, and compaction.
• Monitor pressure, leakage, and CCTV testing; inspect concrete works and precast elements.
• Review Inspection Requests, method statements, shop drawings, and material approvals; check delivered materials against approved submittals.
• Monitor reinstatement and coordinate with road and utility teams; identify non-conforming work and follow up on corrective actions.
• Coordinate with resident engineering staff, contractors, surveyors, and utility inspectors; maintain records and support testing, commissioning, and handover.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant wet utilities inspection experience on infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of drainage, sewerage, potable water, and irrigation networks; pipeline installation, testing, backfilling, and compaction.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and method statements; knowledge of inspection procedures, material approvals, and quality control.
• UAE infrastructure project experience is preferred.
