Waste Enforcement Officer

What you will do

• Carry out frontline enforcement activity across the city, working with residents, businesses, community groups and partners to investigate waste‐related offences
• Gather evidence, issue fixed penalties and statutory notices, and take regulatory action in line with the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and other environmental legislation
• Investigate fly‐tipping, waste accumulations and duty‐of‐care breaches and prepare case files to support legal proceedings
• Help tackle environmental crime, improve compliance and contribute to cleaner, safer neighbourhoods.
• What you will need to be able to demonstrate
• Strong communication skills
• Good judgement and confidence in handling challenging situations
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
• Previous enforcement experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided
