Warehouse Operative

Location: Dagenham | 40 Hours per Week | Monday-Friday | £29,515 | Shift - 6:30am - 3:00pm

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to support the day-to-day running of our warehouse operation. This is a people-focused leadership role where you'll coordinate workflows, coach colleagues, and ensure products move safely and efficiently through the operation.

Working alongside other Team Leaders and site management teams, you'll play a key role in delivering operational targets, maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy, and creating a positive working environment for your team.

Leading, motivating and coaching a team of warehouse operatives to achieve daily productivity and service targets.

Supporting warehouse operations including receiving, picking, packing, loading and dispatching customer orders.

Organising workloads and coordinating resources to ensure work is completed accurately and on time.

Promoting a strong health & safety culture and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Supporting the training and development of colleagues through hands-on coaching and best practice guidance.

Working closely with inventory teams to maintain stock accuracy.

Identifying and resolving operational issues, escalating where appropriate.

Supporting the delivery of site efficiency and stock loss targets.

Previous experience within a warehouse, distribution or logistics environment.

Experience leading, coaching or supervising operational teams.

Strong understanding of warehouse processes, inventory control and health & safety practices.

Excellent communication and organisation skills.

Ability to lead by example and create a positive team culture.

Comfortable using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), scanners and Microsoft Office applications.

A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.

Forklift licence or certification.

IOSH qualification.

Experience supporting health & safety initiatives.

Knowledge of SNAP or other warehouse management systems.

This role operates on a rotating shift basis across the warehouse operation. Flexibility is required to support business needs and ensure the smooth running of the warehouse.
