Company and product context

Ambyint provides a SaaS Industrial IoT platform combining physics-influenced AI models and closed-loop control for autonomous energy operations and production optimization.

The company aims to extend autonomous optimization across more of a well’s life and turn operating data into predictive reliability and measurable economics.

Role overview

The VP, Product is the senior leader accountable for translating company strategy, customer needs, and technology into a differentiated product portfolio.

This player-coach role inherits an established product vision, North Star, and operating model; it will lead operator discovery while building a lean product team.

The role leads Product Management and Product Operations and aligns product priorities across Engineering, Operations, Customer Success, Business Development, Sales, and Marketing.

Strategy and product management

  • Own product vision, strategy, portfolio roadmap, and sequencing of investments across the life of the well.
  • Set transparent portfolio governance and evidence-based decision rights; partner with executive leadership on planning, Board materials, reviews, and investment decisions.
  • Build customer discovery and research practices and ensure teams validate customer problems and commercial value before committing development capacity.
  • Create ongoing customer feedback loops and ensure product workflows work both at the wellsite and at the desk.

Operations and commercialization

  • Co-lead Product Operations across planning, prioritization, release readiness, product data, tooling, governance, and cross-functional communication.
  • Establish a product development cadence from discovery through launch and post-launch learning, with quarterly review of commitments and KPI movement.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success on market segments, positioning, packaging, pricing inputs, launches, and enablement.
  • Connect roadmap priorities to revenue, retention, expansion, implementation success, and customer time to value; use market intelligence and competitive insights.

Technology and organization leadership

  • Partner with Engineering on product outcomes, architecture, platform scalability, security, reliability, feasibility, and industrial workflow requirements.
  • Guide responsible AI and automation, considering model performance, explainability, data quality, customer trust, and operational safety.
  • Lead adoption of AI-accelerated product discovery and delivery while balancing innovation with platform standardization.
  • Scale the Product organization, recruit and coach leaders, build empowered teams, and establish cross-functional interfaces and decision rights.

Qualifications

  • Progressive product leadership in AI industrial or physical-world B2B technology, enterprise software, or AI, including executive or senior functional leadership.
  • Success defining product strategy, managing a portfolio, scaling products, and leading Product Management and product operating practices.
  • Commercial orientation connecting product decisions to revenue, adoption, retention, customer outcomes, and market expansion.
  • Track record building high-performing cross-functional teams; able to work credibly with technical teams, customers, executives, and Board members.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Institutional financing experience is strongly valued.

Preferred industry experience and travel

  • Energy, industrial operations, production optimization, or asset-intensive industry experience is an asset.
  • Experience with products acting on physical systems, including OT, industrial control, or energy, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience delivering products alongside customer-facing domain experts is an asset.
  • Willingness to spend approximately 20–25% of time in the field with operators.

Leadership profile

  • Connect customer problems, market opportunity, company economics, and technology choices to a focused portfolio.
  • Use customer evidence, decisive trade-offs, and outcome accountability to guide product decisions.
  • Build trust across functions, communicate through ambiguity, and move between executive strategy and practical operating systems.
  • Write clear product narratives and quarterly communication covering commitments, delivery, and KPI movement.

Workplace and benefits

  • The company describes its working environment as hybrid.
  • The posting mentions competitive compensation and benefits but does not specify a salary amount or pay cadence.

Measures of success

A clear product strategy and roadmap guide organization-wide investment decisions.

Validated customer problems produce measurable adoption, value realization, satisfaction, and more wells in autonomous operation.

Product contributes to recurring revenue, retention, expansion, stronger win rates, and priority-market entry.

Delivery commitments, portfolio discipline, cross-functional alignment, and product organization capabilities improve as the company scales.
