What you'll do
- You’ll be at the heart of designing and evolving the fixed voice platforms that underpin critical communication services. Working across technology, operations, suppliers and business teams, you’ll shape robust, scalable and future-ready solutions that deliver exceptional customer experiences while driving innovation, efficiency and operational excellence. You'll lead the end-to-end design and optimisation of Fixed Voice solutions, ensuring platforms remain resilient, secure and aligned with business objectives. You'll create high-quality technical designs and architecture documentation, translating business requirements into practical, scalable solutions. You'll collaborate with internal teams, delivery partners and suppliers to introduce new capabilities and enhance existing voice services. You'll provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise across Fixed Voice technologies throughout the design, implementation and support lifecycle. You'll develop High-Level and Low-Level Designs (HLDs/LLDs), implementation plans and technical documentation that enable successful delivery and ongoing support. You'll identify opportunities to improve services through automation, standardisation and process optimisation. You'll work closely with key technology partners, cloud providers and suppliers to ensure solutions are delivered to agreed quality and performance standards. You'll support testing, validation and technical assurance activities to ensure solutions are deployment-ready and fit for purpose. You'll analyse complex technical challenges, contribute to incident and problem resolution, and drive continuous improvement through root-cause analysis. You'll participate in governance forums, design reviews and assurance activities, ensuring solutions meet security, regulatory and architectural standards. You'll help shape the future of voice technology by contributing to transformation initiatives, technology roadmaps and innovation programmes.
Who you are
- Proven experience designing and delivering telecommunications solutions within complex technology environments. Strong expertise in Fixed Voice technologies, including SIP, VoIP, interconnect services and voice network architectures. Knowledge of Softswitches, Media Gateways, IMS platforms, Session Border Controllers (SBCs), Intelligent Networks, PBX and IVR solutions. Experience producing technical designs, architectures, implementation plans and supporting documentation to a high standard. Comfortable translating business requirements into practical technical solutions that balance customer needs, risk, cost and operational efficiency. Strong understanding of Telco Cloud technologies, including NFV, SDN and modern virtualised network environments. Familiarity with cloud and cloud-native deployment models across on-premises, hybrid and public cloud platforms. Skilled at building effective relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, systems integrators and technology partners. A collaborative problem solver who can navigate complex technical challenges and deliver successful outcomes across multiple teams. Understanding of regulatory, security and operational requirements within telecommunications environments. Passion for continuous improvement, innovation and emerging technologies, with a desire to challenge the status quo and drive meaningful change.
