We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented
Visual Merchandising Consultant
with proven experience in the fashion retail industry.
This is an
hourly contract
role focused on enhancing in-store visual presentation, optimizing retail layouts, and executing vendor-led merchandising strategies to drive customer engagement and sales.
• Mannequin Styling & Display
+ Design, style, and regularly update mannequin displays in line with seasonal themes and brand guidelines
+ Adapt mannequin styling based on vendor direction and product launches
+ Ensure all displays reflect current fashion trends and align with brand identity
• Visual Merchandising Execution
+ Implement creative in-store visual merchandising strategies across all departments
+ Maintain high standards of visual presentation and store aesthetics
+ Ensure consistency of visual guidelines across the retail space
• Store Layout Optimization
+ Provide strategic recommendations on store layout improvements to enhance customer flow and product visibility
+ Collaborate with store management to implement layout changes
+ Adjust floor plans based on seasonal shifts, campaigns, and promotions
• Seasonal & Campaign Changes
- + Lead execution of seasonal VM changes, including window displays, feature areas, and promotional setups
- + Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to roll out new collections effectively
- + Ensure timely updates of all visual merchandising elements
- Vendor Coordination
- + Work closely with fashion brands/vendors to understand their merchandising guidelines
- + Execute displays as per vendor direction while maintaining store consistency
• Performance & Standards
+ Monitor effectiveness of displays and suggest improvements to drive sales
+ Conduct regular store walkthroughs and provide actionable feedback
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Visual Merchandiser in the fashion retail industry (mandatory)
- Strong portfolio demonstrating mannequin styling and store display expertise
- Solid understanding of current fashion trends and customer behaviour
- Experience working with multi-brand or vendor-driven retail environments
- Ability to interpret and execute brand guidelines and seasonal concepts
- Strong creative, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and deliver within tight timelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Visual Merchandising, Fashion, Design, or related field
- Experience in luxury or fast-fashion retail environments
- Familiarity with retail analytics and sales-driven merchandising strategies
