Virtualization Architect

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end virtualization architecture blueprints covering compute, storage, network, and cloud integration.
• Plan and manage resource allocation, workload placement, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies within virtualized environments.
• Lead and oversee the implementation of virtualization solutions in collaboration with infrastructure, cloud, and engineering teams.
• Configure, manage, and optimize virtual machines, virtual networks, and virtual storage resources.
• Develop a virtualization strategy aligned with business objectives, IT standards, scalability, performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Establish and maintain monitoring processes to track virtualization infrastructure performance, capacity, and health.
• Implement integration with cloud platforms to ensure service continuity, scalability, and high availability.
• Perform regular maintenance activities to ensure system stability, security, and minimal downtime.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance, availability, and capacity issues within the virtualized environment.
• Implement automation tools and scripts to streamline virtual machine provisioning, lifecycle management, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain clear technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standards, and operational procedures.
• Stay current with virtualization technologies, cloud platforms, and infrastructure best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in VMware infrastructure management.
• At least 3 years of experience in software-defined storage (VNX).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cloud virtualization and high availability management.
• Strong hands-on expertise in enterprise virtualization platforms and infrastructure operations.
• Proven ability to design, implement, and support highly available and scalable virtualized environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex infrastructure issues.
• Experience working with cross-functional IT teams and stakeholders.
