Role Description

The Owner role at Quectel in Nairobi County, Kenya is a full-time, on-site leadership position responsible for overseeing local operations, business development, and strategic execution.

Day-to-day responsibilities include defining market strategies, managing key customer relationships, and ensuring alignment with Quectel’s global vision for IoT innovation.

The Owner will oversee financial performance, monitor operational efficiency, and guide local teams to meet growth targets and quality standards.

This role involves close collaboration with global leadership, coordination with technical and sales support, and participation in high-level decision-making for regional initiatives.

The Owner is expected to represent Quectel in the local market, build partnerships, and maintain a strong, ethical business presence.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills, with experience overseeing business operations and growth.
  • Background in technology or telecommunications, ideally with exposure to IoT, cellular, GNSS, or wireless communication solutions.
  • Financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing business performance metrics.
  • Business development and relationship management skills, with the ability to build partnerships and maintain key client accounts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills in a multicultural, global environment.
  • Proven ability to manage on-site teams, foster a collaborative culture, and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Technology Management, or a related field; advanced degree is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a senior executive, founder, or owner-level role, preferably within a technology-focused organization.
  • Ability to work on-site in Nairobi County, Kenya and collaborate effectively with international teams across time zones.
