What you’ll do
- Lead experience design for product areas from understanding the problem through delivery and continued improvement.
- Shape new experiences and evolve established products while navigating legacy systems, technical constraints, and user expectations.
- Understand complex workflows, user roles, permissions, data relationships, and cross-product dependencies.
- Translate user, business, stakeholder, and technical needs into experience models and workflows.
- Create information architectures, wireframes, prototypes, interaction designs, and detailed interface specifications.
- Plan and conduct user research and usability testing; turn findings into actionable improvements.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, domain experts, and designers.
- Use and contribute to design systems for consistent, accessible, and scalable experiences.
- Communicate design reasoning and trade-offs using evidence; facilitate team alignment around user needs and outcomes.
- Track usability issues and improve products using research, feedback, product data, and technical insights.
- Contribute to the quality and culture of SLB’s wider design community.
What we’re looking for
- Approximately 6+ years of product or UX design experience, with sound judgment and independent ownership.
- Experience designing complex B2B, enterprise, technical, scientific, industrial, or workflow-intensive applications.
- Strong systems thinking, analytical problem-solving, and comfort with ambiguity and incomplete information.
- Deep knowledge of interaction design, information architecture, user research, usability, prototyping, and human-centred design.
- Ability to choose design activities based on the problem, evidence, risks, and delivery constraints.
- Ability to understand technical concepts and collaborate with engineers and subject-matter experts.
- Strong visual and interface design skills supported by clear product and interaction-design reasoning.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating closely with another designer and the wider product team.
