About This Role

Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to lead and oversee the finance function within a well-established government entity in Abu Dhabi.

The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in driving financial planning, budgeting, governance, compliance, risk management, and business continuity initiatives, while supporting senior management in achieving the organization's strategic objectives.

  • Comply with EHS Policies, Programs and Procedures as per IAT/ADVETI EHSMS-General Framework and take responsibility for any aspect of EHS that they are involved in
  • Develop, review and maintain the department Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) and Business Continuity related activities to ensure resilient business operations and functions in the Department guarantee the teams’ competency and resilience to endure essential business processes in case of interruptive events. Will also support and collaborate in IAT BCMS
  • Lead and manage the Finance department
  • Maintain IAT’s financial and accounting procedures to ensure proper accounting and system control
  • Ensure that they are consistent with the generally accepted accounting principles (internationally and as applicable to UAE government financial reporting policies), auditing standards and the system’s control requirements
  • Assists with the review and analysis of the current and future requirements of the IAT’s financial requirements to ensure appropriate systems are developed to meet changing conditions in operations
  • Maintains effective system generated financial and management reports for the Finance Division and auditors in order to meet the system’s reporting requirements, and ensures that such reports are submitted on a timely basis
  • Ensures adequacy of internal controls and liaises with users and data processing personnel to ensure accuracy of reporting
  • Maintains the General Ledger ensuring that all subsidiary ledgers, registers and schedules are reconciled and that journal entries are accurately completed, checked and successfully posted to the appropriate account lines and budgetary unit
  • Work towards improvement of cost efficiency, cost reduction and ensure annual spending should not exceed approved budget
  • Provide presentation for BOT and audit committee meeting and ensure implementation of relevant BOT resolution
  • Approval of payment request, invoices, purchase requisitions and evaluate their business need
  • Involve as a member of commercial evaluation committee as an integral part of tendering process
  • Reviewing commercial terms of contracts issued by contract department and participate in contract negotiation
  • Assessing financial risk for each activities and initiate appropriate action to mitigate the risk
  • Ensure compliance requirements for each processes have been followed thoroughly
  • Participate in hiring process for finance and other support functions employees
  • Introduction of best practices and contribute towards improvement of processes under support function
  • Review and update finance policies and procedures and confirm implementation
  • Dealing with all statutory and regulatory matters related with finance
  • Participate internal and external meeting and business discussion
  • Dealing with internal, external and ADAA auditors
  • Making all internal and external communication as a capacity of functional head
  • Work for design and development of efficient and effective structure of the department as well as for organization
  • Conduct financial and non-financial analysis and propose different scenarios to the top management to support decision making process
  • Produce monthly management report and monitoring financial performance on perpetual basis
  • Periodical review and monitoring of budget & fund status in order to initiate appropriate decision or action accordingly
  • Ensure that procure to pay process is working efficiently and effectively
  • Conduct proper financial due diligence for customers and suppliers before entering any deal
