The Forward Deployed Engineer joins Sia's Middle East Data & AI team and works embedded with clients.
The role turns generative AI prototypes into production-grade solutions for daily operations, owning technical delivery and bridging engineering teams with business stakeholders.
Work may focus on agentic systems, enterprise integrations, and AI adoption.
Responsibilities
- Translate business needs into deployable AI solutions with clear acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes.
- Design and deploy production LLM systems, including RAG, tool-calling agents, workflow automation, and conversational interfaces.
- Build Python or TypeScript services, APIs, connectors, and integrations with client systems and data sources.
- Use code review, testing, CI/CD, logging, and monitoring; track quality, latency, and cost.
- Follow enterprise governance, approved services, access controls, and security reviews.
- Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs; escalate scope changes early.
- Provide training, documentation, and knowledge transfer to support client adoption.
- Support business development and contribute to internal AI accelerators, research, and training.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field.
- 2–6 years' software engineering or applied AI engineering experience.
- Strong production experience in Python or TypeScript, including LLMs and agents in production.
- Experience with RAG pipelines, tool-calling agents, LLM workflows, evaluation, and safeguards.
- Hands-on experience with applied AI frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, the OpenAI SDK, and the Anthropic SDK.
- Experience with API design, heterogeneous integrations, and a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), plus Git and CI/CD.
- Experience in governed enterprise environments, including data controls and security reviews.
- Ability to translate client needs into solutions and explain technical decisions to non-technical audiences.
- Professional English proficiency is required; Arabic is a plus. No certification is required.
- Based in the UAE, in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
